How to Right Click Copy Cut and or Paste?

WIth text, i have my commands set up with simple hot keys for Copying, Cutting & Pasting. Those are easy. But I attempted to cut, copy or paste files from one folder to another and was unsuccessful.
So if its possible, what are the keyboard combinations for Copying, Cutting & Pasting files from a folder to another.
I know to do it with text its
^C - Copy
^X - Cut
^V - Paste
But im lost when it comes to the files. Anyone out there help me out? Thank you.
