Can you use this program with a POS keyboard?

If it appears as standard HID device (keyboard) in windows then yes.

You certainly can. I use a Cherry SPOS G86-63400 model and it works fine. It comes with Cherry Designer software which enables you to program the keys.
Unfortunately I understand that HID Macros will not recognise combinations allocated to a given key such as Shift+Q, only single letters or symbols. Seeing as the SPOS keyboard has more keys available than a standard QWERTY style keyboard, this makes the extra keys redundant. Or am I wrong and it is possible to use combinations in HID Macros.......??

A great shame Petr.
However, it's a great piece of software and thank you.

Hi Mumrose

I am thinking of getting the Cherry SPOS G86-63400. Is it recognised by FSX and FSUIPC or do you have to use the Cherry Designer software? Are you happy with it? They are not cheap and reviews are a bit scarse on the net.

Many thanks
John

John

I haven't looked at this forum for some time so sorry for not replying earlier.

You're right that the Cherry SPOS keyboard is expensive (and difficult to source individually) but when compared to the GF module P8 it's good value (I'm in the process of setting up the 737NGX panels and have programmed 82 buttons on the SPOS so far. Only 8 available with a P8 for about the same price). You can also buy an accessory kit (G99-1779ZUB) which allows you to combine keys ie 2 into 1 or 4 into 1. There are clear caps that can push onto individual keys under which I've placed labels produced on Powerpoint.
You do need to use Cherry Designer to program the keys but that's fairly straightforward -- without that the keys won't work. I've then produced mouse macros in FSUIPC and allocated the keys accordingly. It's very rewarding when you hit a key and the appropriate panel switch operates correctly.

There is also the added advantage that the keyboard could be programmed for uses other than FS.

Hi guys

I am still considering purchasing the Cherry SPOS G86-63400. I would really like to use it for custom camera views in FSIOpus, but to do this it must be recognised in FSIOpus as a joystick or keyboard. If anyone has this model (or similar) and uses it in FSIOpus, I would really love to hear how it goes.

Thanks
John
