Having Hidmacros hold shift key then press 2nd key

I am very new to using this program and i can not figure out how to have the program hold shift then press the F3 key. Is this possible and if it is what am i not getting here? I have only been trying to use the send keyboard sequence section and im guessing that's not how its done. If you could explain this for me in the simplest way possible that would be a great help.
