Can luamacros or hidmacros be used without admin privileges? Would like to have a portable macro keyboard that I can use at work. Unfortunately, I cannot install on the device. Can it be run from a USB drive? If not, any recommendations on other possibilities?

There's no installer for any of these. You just copy the files and go.
Hidmacros require admin rights for the first run to register some COM objects - this won't change (as development is over).
I think luamacros can run without admin rights - just could have problems to block keys for apps running under admin account.
