LuaMacros can control Xplane as my main motivation is flight simulation.

I am also an avid X-Plane pilot. Currently on v11.11. Would you mind sharing any LuaMacros scripts you have for X-Plane that I can use as a starting point?

My hub for most things X-Plane is x-plane.org. I didn't see any references to this tool on x-plane.org. I think the community there would be pleased to hear of this work. I'd like to go through the process of setting this up on my sim, and then maybe I can publish a tutorial document to that group. Unless you have something already?

I use 2 separate keyboards and 2 home made joysticks based on Leo Bodnar's board.
