commands2 is array in my script and index in this array is integer number. You can eithor provide it directly or using string.byte.
The value is xpl command - check command reference in xplane

Yes, it's possible, use global variable in init section to track curent state and script in macro (for key) to set it and send appropraite event (or key).
And please use topics that descibres problem (not need help)

You can have lua callback procedure trigerred by xpl variable change. If you hook it to plane tail number it's called when the plane is loaded. There is no such available command in lua. What you can do is not define callback for whole device but only for specific keys/buttons. Then othe keys are not affected. I think mouse support was never working properly in HidMacros.
And you are facing the situation when it doesn't work.
As development of HidMacros stopped there's nothing how you can get it working
